Canine Companions - Teaching Us to Be A Better Human Being
Canine companions are true companions. If you have ever had a canine companion, you would instantly know what I am talking about. They are always there to greet you when you come back after a hard day at office. They cherish the fact that you are a part of their lives. Though they cannot speak, they understand our feelings and our moods. Remember the last time you were feeling really low and how your canine companion would always sit by you. As if he/she is telling you that he/she is always there for you.
Canines Can Be Mischievous
Have you ever looked into the eyes of your beloved canine companions? There is something in them that is hard to explain. Some of them have such mischievous eyes like they are always up to something. You can only expect the naughtiest things from them. If you have a dog with mischievous eyes, always be prepared for the unexpected. Through their mischievous ways they enrich our lives. Then there are dogs with serious eyes. They reflect total loyalty and a deep understanding of us.
If you love having canine companions, you would understand how quickly they become part of your family. You treat them like part of your family and you get unconditional love from them. They would be happy when you are happy. They would comfort you when you are sad. Even if you neglect them they would be always be there for you. However, this is not to say that you should neglect them. If you have taken the responsibility of a canine companion, it is your duty to treat him/her with all the love you can. What you get back in return is immeasurable love.
There is a lot you can learn from your canine companions. You learn to be selfless. You learn to give. You learn to be compassionate. I always believe that if you can show kindness towards animals, you are a compassionate human being. You learn to be responsible if you have dogs. After all they depend on you totally. You have to feed them, bathe them, and take them for their regular rounds everyday. You have to look after their wellbeing. If they fall sick, they are not the ones to tell you. You have to be attuned to all their responses and cues so that you know when your beloved companion is not feeling too good.
Therapeutic Benefits
According to recent studies, canine companions can help you through illness. They have such a positive influence on your surrounding environment that you cannot help but feel happy. They will bring a smile on your face even in your toughest moments. When you are with your dog, you seem to forget all your worries. Many people have successfully dealt with cancer and other deadly diseases with the help of their true friend- their dog. The therapeutic effects of having a canine companion have come to the forefront in recent years. However, this is something that dog lovers knew all along but could not explain.
I always say that our animal friends make us better human beings. There is so much we can learn from them. This is especially true of our beloved canine companions.
A Good Friend
Think you cant site down, watch a movie and share a bowl of popcorn with you dog?Think again! Well, be carefull, your dog may not know the meaning of sharing. Aside from that, dogs love tojust sit with you and if you give them a snack they'll be yours for life. One of my favorite things to do is to sit down, snuggle up with my canine and turn on a movie. You may have to sit on the floor if you haven't spoiled your dog like I have, but in the end it worth it. Make sure you take your dog out for a good run the next day, you wouldn't want the popcorn turning him into a butter ball.
